Frequently Asked Questions
COMMON QUESTIONS
What is a drone light show?
A drone light show is a choreographed aerial display performed by a swarm of illuminated drones that create animations, logos, and storytelling moments in the night sky. Using advanced positioning technology, the drones move in perfect synchronization to deliver a safe, customizable, and unforgettable entertainment experience.
Our fleet is proudly built in the United States 🇺🇸 and features top-tier hardware that flies better, brighter, and longer than the vast majority of drones on the market.
How many drones are used in a show?
Show sizes vary depending on your vision, budget, venue, and event scale. We commonly produce shows featuring 100, 150, or 200+ drones, each designed to create a powerful visual impact.

Not sure what size is right for your event? Our team will help you select the ideal fleet to match your goals, audience, and venue.
Are drone shows safe?
Safety is our highest priority. SkyGlow operates with FAA-certified pilots, structured safety protocols, and thorough operational planning to ensure every performance meets the highest standards of safety. Through detailed site reviews, airspace coordination, and continuous monitoring, we deliver spectacular shows without compromising safety.
Each show is flown using redundant computer systems, operated by a minimum of two FAA-certified Part 107 pilots (one acting as pilot in command and the other as co-pilot) along with trained visual observers to ensure the flight area remains secure throughout the performance. Every aspect of our shows is planned with safety first.
What about weather?
Weather is continuously monitored by our flight team to ensure operations remain within strict safety thresholds.
Unlike the majority of other light show drones, our fleet is capable of flying in rain and moderate winds, however safety guides every decision. Should conditions prevent flight, we collaborate with you to evaluate the safest and most effective next steps. If poor weather is forecasted, we aim to schedule backup show dates during the contract process.
How long is a drone show?
While we can operate longer displays, most shows run between 10-14 minutes. Coming from an extensive entertainment background, we’ve found that to be the sweet spot. Long enough to be impressive, while still holding your audience’s full attention.
Why choose a drone show for my event?
Drone shows provide a safe, innovative, and highly customizable entertainment experience that stands apart from traditional fireworks. They offer unmatched creative flexibility while producing zero smoke, extremely minimal noise, and leaving no debris behind, making them an ideal choice for modern events.
Additionally, these shows create valuable sponsorship opportunities by turning the night sky into premium branding space, allowing your partners and sponsors to be featured in a way that captures audience attention at scale.
How much does it cost?
Pricing greatly varies depending on factors such as drone count, event location, and overall show complexity. Because each of our shows is uniquely designed, we provide tailored proposals that align with your vision and event goals.
Please each out to our team, and we’ll walk you through the options, answer your questions, and begin designing a show that’s uniquely yours.
How far in advance should I book?
We can often accommodate bookings with 2-3 weeks notice; however, we recommend booking your show date a month or two in advance to ensure appropriate time for planning, show design, and any necessary regulatory approvals for your location. Peak holiday dates fill quickly, so we encourage early booking if you are considering a holiday show.
How much space is required?
Space requirements vary based on fleet size and show design. For most setups, our drones are positioned just under five feet apart on the ground. A typical 150-drone show generally requires an approximate launch area of 55′ × 105′ with clear, unobstructed airspace above.
However, takeoff configurations can often be tailored to fit your venue. Many locations are more suitable than they initially appear, and our team is happy to evaluate your space.
